SPELL: THE HYPNOTIST DOG [3D]

Oscar, a dog with paranormal powers, and his master, Werner Hirsch, tell their stories through a TV crew. The Spell project originated as a mixed composition, echoing the multifaceted nature of the very term itself. Spell indicates a magic formula, but it is also a lapse in time, a moment – what meteorologists call a ‘wave’. But it also means arranging in the correct sequence the letters which make up a word. A common denominator for all Spell’s projects is duality, the double, intended as shared participation in a unitary economy; the combination of elements in Spell tends to produce cryptic and solemn events whose manifestation is uncertain or at least dubious. The project comprises two short films, two audiovisual installations and a concert/performance.
