剧情介绍
A boy accidentally shoots a friend with a gun he found in the rubble of a destroyed building. The gun turns out to be a clue in a ten-year-old murder case.
Lizabeth Scott's son, Jon Whiteley, finds a gun in a bombed out area of London and accidentally shoots a playmate. Out of fear, he flees with the gun. The bullet matches one used 10 years earlier in a murder. This brings Captain Steve Cochran into the case as well as the police, headed by Herbert Marshall. Cochran's the lead. But the criminal George Cole, who was involved years before, learns about the gun and he too sets out to find the boy and the weapon.

如此吸引人的开场之后是一部彻底跑题的不及格悬疑片。心不在焉漏洞百出的案情线几乎可以忽略，主题实际上是战争创伤，比起小男孩的命运大家似乎更关心自己的空虚寂寞冷。好几处本应用来提供信息的对白莫名成了感性对谈，讲着讲着主线从男主查案忽然变成了男主被感化。战后伦敦被拍得非常美，反复出现的废墟作用很直白，埋在墙里的枪也不过是个隐喻而已，片子根本重点不在这个案子。Cochran的又一个正派角色，打个卡。
