出狱

27岁的上海人陆剑伟在监狱里已经关押了十年，他8岁时父母离异，一年后抚养他的父亲又患绝症去死。16岁时，他在同学家中行凶致人死亡，因故意杀人罪被判处有期徒刑15年。陆剑伟绝望以后开始真诚忏悔，前后三次获准减刑，志愿者吴阿姨每个月去看望他，坚持六年对他进行帮教。2008年底的一天，是陆刑满释放的日子，吴阿姨第一个出现在监狱门口。获得自由的他首先面临户口和住房问题。因为复杂的家庭关系和贫寒的家境，他像皮球一样被父母两边的亲戚踢来踢去。没有户口，便没有稳定工作和生活保障。社会有关部门在帮助这个没有独立生活经验的年轻人，陆剑伟也努力去适应巨变的城市，但现实问题比他想象复杂得多，他的心态在发生变化……

　　Lu’s parents divorced when he was eight. He lived with his father since then, until a year later cancer brought the latter away. At the age of 16, he committed a murder at one fellow student’s place, resulting in a sentence of fifteen years’ imprisonment.
　　The young man was once in despair but resolved to redeemed his sin, and earned himself thrice a commute. Thanks to a volunteer called Aunty Wu, who had been visiting the man monthly over the last six years and was the first one in Dec., 2008 – the day Lu regained freedom – to greet him back to normal life, Lu gradually built up his hope and confidence.
　　What he didn’t foresee is, problems only starts to pile up after he stepped out of jail, like household registration, or simply where to live. He is tossed around among relatives on both his father’s and mother’s sides, understandable due to the family’s past, especially when most of his living relatives lead a frugal life their own. Besides, having never before lived independently, he has little idea as to how. Even with the help of the society and his own attempt to adjust to the rapidly developing metropolis, Lu still finds reality much harder to handle than he had imagined, while his attitude is undergoing a subtle change…
