Exploring the themes of troubled children-parent relationships, the movie tells the story of a young protagonist who forms a curious relationship with his birth mother who once abandoned him. Inspired by true events, the idea for the film originated 13 years ago as a project by Jacques Audiard, after reading an article by Emmanuel Carrere.

亵渎电影
上战父子兵，米勒父子的联手效果差强人意。影片改编自真实事件，只挑事件重点的做法简单几场戏就让人物变得立体，却也让故事变得不够细腻缺乏细节。儿子对于生母有欲望的成分在吗？这应该算给了突如其来的犯罪一个动机。母子关系之间的亲情维系很微妙，我很高兴母亲还活着，看来血总是浓于水的。★★★
