Un maire au Kosovo

Un Maire au Kosovo is an extended interview with Bajram Rexhepi, a surgeon who fought with the Kosovan Liberation Army and was later appointed mayor of the city of Mitrovica, as someone respected by all political parties and not seen as an extremist. In his office and driving around in his car, Rexhepi answers questions from Marker and Crémieux about how he came to join the Kosovan Liberation Army, and how he treated the wounded in very difficult conditions. He goes on to discuss the impact of the war and his feelings about the future of the Balkans. The interview is intercut with scenes from a ceremony for the Kosovan Liberation Army with songs, dancing and poetry.
