A documentary film about the rock singer Janis Joplin released to theaters across the United States in the spring of 1975 (copyrighted in 1974).
The film was directed by Howard Alk with a lot of assistance from Albert Grossman, Janis' manager.
Janis doesn't feature any sound bite interviews with the subject's friends or business associates. All of the footage was filmed when the singer was alive.

基本上就唱首歌然后接一段媒体的采访。清醒的时候，她说的话还是很有哲理的。说到高中时候不受欢迎时，也会很难过。纪录片最后放的几张小时候的照片从没见过，穿着小裙子的她看起来实在太可爱。命运就是这样，注定她就是与音乐，与酒与毒品与形形色色的男人相伴一生。她也永远不能成为母亲期望的好女孩
