1943年，常德会战爆发，原本家住常德老城东门的富家小姐周小妹避难逃往乡下，战乱中遇到的爱情让她再也没有回到城市。在常德城郊的灌溪镇生活了73年，92岁的周小妹开始记忆减退，在虚幻与现实之中慢慢度过自己生命最后的日子。
《Laoga》片名取自常德方言中曾外祖母之意，影片通过观察记录的方式走入了这位年岁近百的老人的日常生活，岁月静静流淌，往事一幕幕浮现。
Laoga is an 18-minute short documentary film about the current life and past memories of a southern Chinese old widow in a small town called Guanxi, Changde (a southern Chinese city in Hunan province). Laoga means great-grandmother in Changde dialect (a variety of Southwestern Mandarin).
As a ninety-two-year-old widow with fading short-term memory, Xiaomei Zhou struggles to find out the difference between reality and illusion. She is deeply influenced by Chinese traditional culture, and as a Christian, has her own thoughts about life and death.

本麻将爱好者仿佛看到了某种未来……这种朴素的情感很有力量，但中间很多空镜于我而言比较无趣，增加过去的影像资料或许会更好。

还以为这是一部对战争历史思考的纪录片，但这其实是一部“家”的纪录片。对于90多岁的老嘎来说，她知道自己越来越老，有时呼吸都困难，对她来说，内心的平静，打打牌的小乐趣，不用再颠沛流离，这些才是最重要的事情。国由家组成，家由人组成，无论你是英国人，中国人，美国人，法国人，记得回家。

好看，所以看这段影片的时候几乎全程死盯。从开头的扑克游戏到中间市场里的对话再到结尾处的叮嘱，这些絮絮叨叨的细枝末节大概是平凡生活里最温暖的东西了。喜欢片子里带着口音的旁白，并且觉得周小妹是个很酷的老太太。
