《一》讲述了一位在2001年偷渡进入美国后一直在东海岸的餐馆做工,被人称为“一仔”的福州移民的生活。他于2010年因为贩毒被捕入狱，在此之后在联邦监狱服刑三年，在移民监狱服刑一年。由于贩毒的案底，美国政府将永远不会给他申请绿卡的机会。在美国政府尝试将他驱逐出境时，中国政府以“没有此人在中国的档案”为由拒绝接受他。 当一仔从监狱释放后，他发现自己处于没有国籍的境地……
　　Yi (2017), centers on a Chinese migrant laborer who illegally immigrated to the U.S. in 2001 and has since worked primarily in various restaurants on the East Coast. In 2010, he was arrested by the F.B.I. and was charged with drug possession and the intent to distribute, for which he spent three years in a federal prison and one year in an immigration detention center. Due to his criminal record, the Chinese government has rejected his reentry and has gone so far as to claim that there is no documentation that he was ever a Chinese national. Yi was eventually released with a temporary permit and has since been working in restaurants again as a man with no citizenship to any country.
